Liquid Luck's Fall Binging List: Movies & TV

Liquid Luck's Fall Binging Movies & Television

If you follow us on our Facebook page, you might've seen that we used to give weekly reccomendations of our favorite movies! We honestly just couldn't keep up with doing a video a week, but our friends and family kept asking us for reccomendations! Because they used to be populat and people*usually* are happy with our reccomendations, we are deciding to make seasonal watch lists! We want to create this in video form on our Youtube Channel, so keep an eye out for those in the future. For now, check out these Fall seasonal reccomendations from our producers!

"Are you afraid of the dark? Do you ever think something may be lurking in the shadows. Ever tried repetivitly turning off the light in a dark room then turning the light back on, but you swear you saw a figure? Well… IT WAS A FIGURE and I don’t know why that SCARES ME! 'Lights Out' takes the natural fear of the dark to chill the audiences spine as a supernatural entity that is attached to a mother seeks revenge on her entire family. You’ll be making sure you buy a night light after watching this movie."

"I wanted to create this list mostly because there are so many amazing shows on Netflix right now! If you want good, clean, humor as well as a reminder of why we should be good to one another, check out The Good Place. The witty humor in this showcases some smart, philosophical writing. The Naked Director goes in the complete opposite direction, showing the Japanese porn industry in the 80's. If you are into Japanese televesion and hilarious over the top situations, definately add it to your queue. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is just a marvel of a series. The craft of puppetry is one that baffles me and this show was just so beautiful and emotional. My biggest reccomendation however is The OA. The cast is amazing, the cerebral story keeps you on your toes, and I just can't reccomend it without spoiling it. And although they say it cancelled, I hope - no, I think - its a genius publicity stunt!"

"I have seen a lot of really good movies this year. Believe it or not, it has been a wonderful year for film, and there are a lot more that I am excited to see in the coming months. However, there have been very few movies that have surprised me as much as The Missing Link. The marketing for this movie was horrendous, so even as a fan of the studio, Laika, which has put out amazing films like Kubo and the Two Strings, Paranorman, and Coraline, I didn't think I was going to like this movie quite as much as I did. Many of the trailers made it seem like a buddy movie centered around a search for bigfoot, and it’s kind of like that, but I would put it more into the class of Indiana Jones. There’s a smarmy adventurer, mystery, and society of hunters, but its main focus is fun all the way through. Honestly, the thing that blew me away the most is just how well directed the action in this movie is. Laika is one of the last major studios doing stop motion film and the care and delicate touch that they put into their films can be seen through every frame. This movie did not do well at the box office, and Laika has been struggling for years now. This may be their last film, but it was a damn good one and I recommend picking it up. "

"I sort of forgot to do this...but my reccomendation should still be taken seriously. Scream is one of my favorite Halloween movies. It's a really good slasher film and very meta with its tropes. It's both funny but fits the slasher film genre. It's one I had to study in film school. Also adding Halloween, because its music always reminds me of this time of year. Is it cliche to say Nightmare Before Christmas? If you haven't seen Stranger Things, go do that now, skip work, it's ok. I also really like the documentary Inside Bill's Brain (about Bill Gates), even though it was a sales pitch basically for his non-profit. I also reccomend Lauryn's reccomendations because we basically watch the same things. The OA was awesome."

Check out our next reccomendation (hopefully in video form) for Oscar season in January! Happy Halloween & happy binging!
