Our relationship with CU Denver spans as far back as 10 years ago, evolving and supporting each other over the years.
Ian and Lauryn went to the University of Colorado Denver between 2009-2014, graduating from the College of Arts & Media with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Theater, Film, & Television. It was at CU Denver that Liquid Luck was formed and got its name, where Ian worked as an equipment manager, and where they won 2 Emmy's for student projects: "A Glass Half Empty" & "Back to the 80's". Liquid Luck's first office was and is still across the street from the CU Denver Campus. We have employed several CU Denver Alumni as filmmakers since graduating, working with some of the best artists in the state.
Ever since Ian won the CU Denver 2018 Recent Alumni Award, Liquid Luck has been really involved with the school as alumni! We were interviewed for a student graduation video for 2019 and asked to speak at the College of Arts & Media's Lunch & Learn. Ian got to speak with one of the filmmaking classes and we had a booth at the CAM internship and job fair (where we met our newest team members Phoenix & Will)! CU Today did a fantastic article about Liquid Luck, highlighting us in their online publication. Ian also started to work with the Bioengineering Department, creating a video about their newest building. Noah created a video for s'ONO, an asian fusion restaurant in the food court of the school. Lauryn & Ian were invited to speak at the 2019 Cinefest Awards, a film festival events for student projects. They also interviewed us for a short piece on a postcard that we can't wait to share!
CU has shown us a lot of love over the years, from giving us an education and helping us get into the working world to promoting us and being a client for video work! We hope to continue this relationship and wanted to give a shout out of all the great things they've done for us! We are currently creating three more videos for the Bioengineering department that we hope to share soon, check out our social media for more updates!
